Choir
CHORAL MUSIC
Choral training is offered for Lower, Middle, and Upper School students, beginning in third grade. Middle and Upper School students (grades 6-12) must register for an elective choir class; Lower School student grades 3-5 join twice a week to rehearse immediately after their school day.
Choral music at STE is liturgically focused, drawing on the rich tradition of Anglican music, and prioritizes a regular performance schedule throughout the year. Students sing in public services of Choral Evensong on a monthly basis, as well as at school chapel services, on special days such as Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday, and at graduation. Touring opportunities are also given, including 2025's STE choral residency in Amsterdam and England.
Adults, including parents and faculty, also sing alongside students regularly as part of the combined STE Church and School choir; adults rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm. This opportunity is open to all who wish to join.
