101. Books with Mrs. Baker
Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Baker, will meet one or two children from ONE family (arrangements may be made for families with more than two siblings) and go on a children’s book adventure at Blue Willow Bookshop OR Barnes and Noble Baybrook.  Mrs. Baker will assist you in selecting a total of $100 worth of books!  If two children attend the outing, the value of the books will be divided equally.  Mutually agreed upon day.  Expiration May 1, 2017.

Enjoy a night of Southern cuisine and beverages as you dive into a book about the unknown story of a dark and tragic event in American history.  Join writer Stokes McMillan, Mississippi’s 2009 Author of the Year, to discuss the award-winning book One Night of Madness and the process of writing it as you dine on delicacies of the deep South.  The book covers the 1950 murder of a family of Mississippi sharecroppers, an event that became a major national news story and helped initiate the civil rights era.  Menu: Mint Julep & Moonshine, Assorted Appetizers, Fried Catfish, Collard Greens, Cole Slaw, Cheese Grits, Hushpuppies/Cornbread, Mississippi Mud Pie and Pecan Pie.  Each couple or adult will receive a signed copy of One Night of Madness.
